State Fair Meadowlands, New Jersey’s largest annual family friendly event, is set to return for 17 days of “everything-under-the-sun” fun this summer, running from June 22 through July 8 at the Meadowlands Fairgrounds, next to the Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford.
This year’s fair will feature acres and acres of electrifying FREE entertainment, thrilling rides, fun games and delicious food to delight fairgoers of all ages. Families should check out the State Fair Kid Zone, Jersey’s largest amusement area for children; the new Live Shark Experience show – watch as their trainers jump in; and save the dates – July 3 and July 4 for State Fair Meadowlands’ spectacular fireworks shows.
“With gas prices high, families will be looking for ways to keep fun close to home this summer – and we have real treats in store for them. Kids and adults won’t want to miss the one-of-a-kind traveling shark show that will educate fairgoers about one of the ocean’s most fascinating and terrifying creatures,” said Al Dorso, President of State Fair Meadowlands. “And, back by popular demand will be our crowd-pleaser attractions, including Circus Maximus, the Big Cat Show, the Racing Pigs, Master Hypnotist Steve Bayner, Festival of Magic and an oddities show with sword swallowers and fireeaters.”
State Fair Meadowlands is the largest fair in the New York metroarea,with over 150 rides and attractions occupying over 35 acres of fairgrounds and parking. The fair will have rides for everyone, from tots to thrill-seeking daredevils, games, shows, live concerts and shopping. Also at the fair will be the original BATCOPTER, which will provide rides offering panoramic views of the fair and nearby New York City, and everyone’s family favorite – the Skyride. Spectacular annual fireworks displays will be held on July 3 and July 4. And, what’s a fair without lots and lots of food, like the classic favorites – funnel cakes, corn dogs, candied apples, curly fries, deep fried Oreos and Twinkies, ice cream, and of course, cotton candy. Fairgoers can even sample real “swamp” food at the new Chester’sGators and Tators or enjoy from a wide array of Italian, Greek, Asian, Mexican and other eateries.
