Whether it's a sold-out Giants or Jets game, or one
of the most anticipated concerts of the year, Giants Stadium has
played host to the most JAW-DROPPING events imaginable.
With over 50 live events a year, there's always something incredible
going on.
It all began on October 10, 1976, when a sellout crowd of over 76,000
fans witnessed the National Football League Giants play the Cowboys
in the Stadium's inaugural game. Since then, Giants Stadium has been
the site of PIVOTAL football contests, both collegiate
and NFL. It's also home to Major League Soccer's Red Bulls as well
as numerous international soccer matches.
Besides being the only stadium in the country to house two NFL
teams, Giants Stadium is also a leading concert facility. Named
2003 #1 TOP-GROSSING STADIUM WORLDWIDE
by Billboard magazine, it has been host to major
televised events such as FIFA World Cup Soccer, the closing ceremonies
of the Statue of Liberty Centennial celebration and Pope John
Paul II's Papal Mass.
Intelligently designed to provide unobstructed sight lines for every
fan, the Stadium has also received high marks from professional athletes
and the media for its spacious team rooms, press rooms, interview areas
and well-equipped training facilities. Giants Stadium has truly earned
its NATIONAL REPUTATION as one of the finest facilities
in the country.
